9/17/23 : Minor League Roundup (includes FSL Championship)

International League ( AAA ) - Rochester 8 (30-37, 64-76) Lehigh Valley 7 (42-27, 78-64)  - eleven innings

Rochester, NY - Innovative Field


Summary :


Kody Clemens led off the game with a home run over the center field fence.


Rochester scored a run in the bottom of the first inning on three singles.


Aramis Garcia homered in the second inning.


Weston Wilson singled in the third inning, stole second and scored on a single by Darick Hall.  Matt Kroon walked.  Aramis Garcia singled to score Hall.


Rochester scored a run in the third inning on a double and two singles.  They scored three runs in the fourth inning on a walk, single and two doubles.


Weston Wilson walked in the fifth, Darick Hall doubled.  Simon Muzziotti singled to score a run.  Aramis Garcia hit a sac fly to score another.


Two singles, a stolen base and a throwing error scored a run for Rochester in the eighth inning.


Darick Hall homered in the ninth inning.


A single, two walks and a sac fly scored a run for Rochester in the bottom of the ninth.


The game went into extra innings tied at seven apiece.


Rochester scored the game winning run in the bottom of the 13th on a sac bunt to move the placed runner to third and a sac fly to score him.


On the Hill :


Tyler Phillips went four innings, five runs, eleven hits, two walks, four strikeouts. Jeremy Walker pitched two scoreless innings, one hit, two strikeouts.  Tyler McKay went one and two third innings, one unearned run, two hits, two strikeouts. Connor Brogdon pitched an inning, one run, one hit, two walks.  Hector Perez was very good - pitched three and two thirds innings (in extras with a placed runner on second base), one unearned run, no hits, one walk, two strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Darick Hall had three hits (single, double and home run).  Aramis Garcia had three hits also (two singles and home run).  Kody Clemens homered.  Hall posted two RBIs, Garcia had three RBIs.  Weston Wilson singled, walked twice and scored two runs. Taylor Lehman pitched one third of an inning, one hit, one inherited runner scored.

Summary :


Final game of the season for Reading.


Marcus Lee Sang singled to lead off the game, Carlos De La Cruz and Jhailyn Ortiz walked to load the bases.  Ethan Wilson singled to score two runs.


Binghamton scored twice in the fifth on two walks, a double and a single.  A single, stolen base and single scored a run in the sixth.


On the Hill :


Zach Haake pitched four and a two third innings, two runs, six hits, two walks, five strikeouts.  Cristian Hernandez went one and one third innings, one run, three hits, three strikeouts. McKinley Moore pitched a scoreless frame, one hit, two strikeouts. Orion Kerkering pitched a perfect inning, two strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Jhailyn Ortiz had two hits.  Casey Martin doubled.

Florida State League ( Low A ) Championship Game One - Jupiter 8 Clearwater 7 (Jupiter leads series 1-0)

West Palm Beach , FL - The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches


Summary :


Brett Roberts hit a two run triple for Jupiter in the first inning. A sac fly then scored Roberts.


Ricardo Rosario walked and stole second base in the second inning.  He scored on a double by Jordan Dissin.


William Bergolla singled in the fifth inning and stole second base.  Aidan Miller singled sending Bergolla to third base.  Zach Arnold singled to score him.


Ricardo Rosario singled in the sixth inning, Jordan Dissin walked and William Bergolla singled to load the bases.  Emaarion Boyd tripled to score all three. Aidan Miller hit a sac fly to score Boyd.


Jupiter scored a runs in the sixth inning on two walks, a single, a bases loaded walk.  Carlos Santiago then hit a grand slam home run.


Aidan Miller and Zach Arnold singled in the ninth inning.  With one out pinch hitter Raylin Heredia walked. Ricardo Rosario was hit by a pitch to force in a run.  Unfortunately a 5-4-3 double play ground out ended the game.


On the Hill :


Braeden Fausnaught opened and pitched two innings, three runs, two hits, one walk, two strikeouts. Daniel Harper pitched two innings, no runs, one hit, two strikeouts. Trey Dillard pitched a perfect inning, two strikeouts.  Paxton Thompson pitched two thirds of an inning, two runs, two walks, two strikeouts. Nathan Karaffa went one third of an inning, three runs, two hits, one walk, one strikeout. Eiberson Castellano pitched two perfect innings, four strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Emaarion Boyd had two hits (single and triple) as did Aidan Miller, Zach Arnold and William Bergolla.  Jordan Dissin doubled. Ricardo Rosario singled and walked twice.  Boyd had three RBIs.
