Phillies #23 prospect according to MLB.com … 18 years old … signed 3/16/2020 as an international free agent from Guatire, Venezuela
Nicknamed “The Drone” Garcia in reference to his ability to cover ground as a center fielder he’s noted for his baseball instincts, excellent speed and athleticism ... obviously we’ve yet to see him play so have no personal first hand observations as of yet ...
He’s currently assigned to the DSL roster ... remains to be seen if he begins his career there or stateside in the Gulf Coast League. We’re hoping for the latter so than we can watch him play.
Projection : It’s difficult to project any teenager but when I read the words “passionate about playing” that’s a great indication of being able to progress. The team reportedly made a heavy investment to sign Yhoswar ... expectations are high ... check back with me in a few months for an update ... hopefully after we’ve seen him firsthand.
