International League ( AAA ) - Buffalo 3 ( 37-27 ) Lehigh Valley 2 ( 35-30 )


Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park


Summary :

Nathan Lukes doubled for Buffalo in the third inning, moved to third on an error and scored on a sacrifice fly.


The Iron Pigs loaded the bases in the fourth inning on walks to Darick Hall & Will Toffey & Jorge Bonifacio reaching on an error. Scott Kingery singled to score both Hall & Toffey.


Jordan Groshans doubled for Buffalo in the fifth and scored on a bloop single to center by Cullen Large that dropped in front of Mickey Moniak.


Buffalo scored a run in the 6th inning on a single, walk, stolen base and throwing error to third base on the steal.


On The Hill :

Notes :


Rafael Marchan threw a bullet to second base to nab Cullen Large trying to steal on a great catch and tag by second baseman Scott Kingery. It was an inning ending gem !



Eastern League ( AA ) - Portland 9 ( 26-36 ) Reading 3 ( 27-35 )


Reading, PA - First Energy Stadium


Summary :


Ceddanne Rafaela doubled to score a run for Portland in the third inning. Pedro Castellanos singled to score Rafaela.


Sal Gozzo doubled to score Chris Sharpe ( walked ) in the bottom of the third inning. Gozzo moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Jack Conley & later scored on a ground out.


Jonathan Guzman singled in the fourth inning, advanced to third on a single by Chris Sharpe and scored on a safety squeeze bunt by Sal Gozzo.

Pedro Castellanos hit a two run single for Portland in the top of the seventh inning. They scored four runs in the 8th on a walk and five singles.


Portland scored another run in the ninth inning.


On The Hill :

South Atlantic League ( High A ) - Aberdeen 6 ( 42-20 ) Jersey Shore 0 ( 24-38 ) - no hitter


Lakewood, NJ - Shoretown Ballpark


Summary :


Colton Cowser homered for Aberdeen in the first inning.


Connor Norby tripled off the center field wall in the third inning on a ball that center fielder Johan Rojas almost caught but the wall jarred it loose from his glove, Cowser singled to score Norby. Aberdeen then loaded the bases on a hit batter and walk - Ramon Rodriquez hit a high chopper infield single to score a run. Isaac Bellony singled to score two more & Michael Mantecon singled to plate another.


The BlueClaws were no hit by three Iron Birds pitchers - it’s only the second time in franchise history they have been no hit - the first time was 14 years ago in 2008.

On The Hill :

Summary :


Kendall Simmons homered in the fourth inning. The Threshers then loaded the bases ( Leandro Pineda walked, Andrik Nava - reached on fielders choice out & Nicolas Torres reached on an error ) - Jamari Baylor then smoked a grand slam home run !


Matt Chamberlain hit a two run home run for Palm Beach in the fifth inning.


Jhon Torres hit a two run homer for the Cardinals in the sixth inning.
