Couple takeaways from Andy MacPhail's end of season presser:
*Sounds like good chance interim GM Ned Rice remains in the role into 2021
*MacPhail didn't rule out leaving his position as team president before contract expires next year
*Still possible Phillies re-sign Realmuto

Andy MacPhail finished his media conference. He indicated he'll be done in a year, when his deal is up, sooner if ownership wants to make a big hire. No interviews for GM yet. IDing candidates. Could take some time, but we've known that. He favors prez of BB ops with GM under him.
Scott Lauber
Andy MacPhail made clear that a) he won't remain with the Phillies beyond next year, b) the hiring of a new GM isn't imminent, c) he doesn't expect any big moves in free agency until later in the process. Club's focus is internal for now, in terms of staff reductions, etc.

It sounds like the Phillies are in no hurry to hire a new GM or president of baseball operations. Ned Rice likely to be interim GM into 2021. Andy MacPhail cites pandemic, although it didn't stop Sixers and doesn't seem to be slowing down Angels.
Tom Moore
Phillies president Andy MacPhail: 'Tampa is unable to unlock hidden talent in players that have been around for a while that we haven't been able to pick up on. They're seeing something we're not and we've got to figure out what that is.'
