Four Practice Games vs Blue Jys - two @ Clearwater, two @ Dunedin - I will post details tomorrow.
I watched parts of the two games today on Roberts and Ashburn - Luke Russo threw really well - velocity looks up a tick. Andrew Baker has had a rough spring but today he excelled throwing a scoreless frame with two strikeouts. He and catcher Guillermo Rosario read the hitters swings really well - Baker threw a nasty 3-2 slider for his first punch out after throwing nothing but heat in the AB to that point - it showed both confidence and an ability to use the slider which is a swing and miss delivery in a pressure count. On his second strikeout he also used the slider after seeing the left handed hitter fouling off a fastball directly back to the backstop he went three consecutive sliders to strike him out. The last out was recorded on a 6-3 ground out. The talent is there and today’s sequencing and delivery of pitches reflect what he’s capable of - good stuff!
Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
