Camp Awards :
Prior to the game the Phillies announced the winners of the 2023 Bill Giles and Larry Rojas awards which are given annually to two minor leaguers in spring training camp who “share the same attitudes as the award’s namesakes; a love and respect for the game of baseball, an outstanding work ethic and pride in being a member of the Phillies organization.” The Awards were initially granted in 1999 and have been given out each spring training camp since with the exception of the 2020 season when camp was cut short.
The Larry Rojas Award was earned this year by outfielder Carlos De La Cruz and the Bill Giles Award was earned by Pitcher Tommy McCollum. Congrats to both young up and coming players!

Summary :
Anthony Volpe tripled down the right field line on the first pitch of the game, he scored New York’s first run on an RBI single by Gleyber Torres. Josh Donaldson hit a two run home run later in the first inning scoring Torres in front of him.
Andres Chaparro homered for the Yankees in the second inning. Anthony Volpe doubled and scored on a single by Aaron Judge.
Gleyber Torres hit a three run home run for New York in the 4th inning.
Nick Castellanos homered for the Phillies in the sixth inning to score their first run.
Dalton Guthrie homered in the seventh inning, Bryson Stott tripled in the 8th inning and scored on a subsequent ground out.

Trea Turner went 3 for 3 with a double and two singles. Dalton Guthrie was 2 for 4 with a home run and single. Kyle Schwarber doubled. Bryson Stott tripled. Nick Castellanos hit his third home run of the spring. Alec Bohm walked twice in four plate appearances.
