Game Summary : Giants 2 Phillies 0
Brandon Belt hit a two run home run for the Giants in the third inning.
On The Hill :
Chase Anderson ( FB 91-95 ) went four innings. He was lifted for a pinch hitter with two outs and runners on second and third ... classic case made for the DH but that’s another story 🤦♂️. Anderson yielded two runs on five hits and no walks and struck out five batters. He threw 70 pitches - 47 for strikes.
David Hale ( FB 92-94 ) pitched two scoreless innings - 1 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s. 32 pitches - 21 strikes.
Sam Coonrad ( FB 99-101 ) tossed a scoreless seventh inning striking out two batters, walked one.
Brandon Kintzler ( FB 91-93 ) tossed a perfect eighth inning.
JoJo Romero ( FB 94-96 ) pitched a scoreless ninth inning allowing a double.
At The Plate :
Bryce Harper had another multi-hit game going 3 for 4 with three singles.
Nick Maton got his first major league hit in the sixth inning.
Doubles : Jean Segura ( 200th of his career )
Notes :
Giants starter Kevin Gausman was very good, pitched out of a lot of jams over six innings ... featured an excellent splitter.
The Phillies left eleven runners on base in the game.
With the win Gabe Kapler’s managerial record is 200-200 ... first time in history a manager has done that after 400 games.
Record is now 8-8
