Spotlight Hitters of the week :

Twenty one year old Aidan Miller (Reading) was 10 for 26 (.385) with five doubles, a home run, four RBIs, ten runs scored and six stolen bases, he walked three times posting a .469 OBP in 32 plate appearances during the week. In the month of August he’s slashing .378/.467/.622 with 6 doubles, a home run, 6 RBIs, 5 walks and 7 stolen bases. His 44 stolen bases to date are the most in a season at Reading since Quintin Berry (48) in 2009. The last to steal 50 in a season was Jose Leiva in 1987.  Aidan has a 13 game on base streak going in which he’s 18 for 51 (.353) with nine walks (.435 OBP in 62 PA’s) with 7 doubles, a triple and 2 home runs.

Clearwater’s Raider Tello (24 year old signed as a non-drafted free agent 7/23/24 from the University of Iowa) went 9 for 18 (.500) during the week - for the month he’s posted a .393/.452/.464 slash line in 31 plate appearances and is hitting .333 in his last 23 games (78 AB’s) with 6 doubles, a home run and 14 RBIs. Raider has a very solid .280 batting average on the season in 282 AB’s. He’s a very versatile defender who has played all four infield positions and right field. A publicly unheralded player thus far but one who gets plenty of notice and attention internally for his team spirit, passion for the game and willingness to play any role needed for his team’s success.

Twenty three year old Dylan Campbell (Reading) was 6 for 16 (.375) during the week but also drew 8 walks to post a .583 OBP in 24 plate appearances - he stole 5 bases and scored 6 runs. Dylan is hitting .406/.525/.563 in August in 40 plate appearances. Since being promoted to Reading on 6/23 he’s posted a respectable .343 OBP in 140 PA’s. Campbell was acquired from the Dodgers on 1/17/25 - he played collegiately at the University of Texas and was selected by the Dodgers in round four of the 2023 draft.

Twenty four year old corner outfielder/infielder Felix Reyes (Reading) was 10 for 27 (.370) with two doubles and eight RBIs during the week, he had a five hit game on Saturday. In the month of August he’s hitting .381/.383/.548 in 46 plate appearances and has posted a .321/.352/.554 slash line and .906 OPS in 270 plate appearances at Reading with 19 doubles, 3 triples, 11 home runs and 37 RBIs - just keeps hitting the baseball consistently hard 👀.

Spotlight Pitcher of the Week :

RH Danyony Pulido (Clearwater) posted two scoreless appearances during the week (3 IP, 4 K’s) flashing an over powering fastball (95-98 mph) along with a slider/curve, cutter and change up.  The 22 year old from Caracas, Venezuela was signed 2/2/21 and has been a solid starter in his career prior to switching to the bullpen this season as a closer. He had a delayed start to his season after being sidelined by shoulder discomfort in spring camp - since being activated on 6/12 with the Threshers he’s recorded a 1.37 ERA in 15 games (19.2 IP) with 3 saves, 22 K’s and 13 walks. Opponents are hitting just .156 against him.  The young man has a very solid 6’1” frame and has always been a power arm to watch. Converting to a bullpen role seems to suit him and albeit controlling his arsenal and consistently throwing strikes is still a work in progress he’s certainly put himself on the radar as a developing back end reliever.
