Bryson Ware had three hits (singles), a walk, two RBIs, four runs scored and a stolen base. Bryan Rincon had four hits (single & three doubles) with two RBIs. Nick Biddison had two hits (single & double). Raider Tello had three hits (singles). Luke Ritter singled and posted three RBIs. Aroon Escobar walked twice and was hit by a pitch, he scored twice.

RH Cody Bowker - 5 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 5 K’s - 65 pitches - 45 strikes - threw well in his AA debut - heavy on the sinker/curve ball mix, lower slot and release point is unique - great movement on pitches - fooled hitters - 13 pitches were called strikes, 7 swing and miss strikes - Roman Anthony was in lineup for Portland on rehab assignment - Bowker faced him twice - one K, one ground out. - good stuff!

Destiny in their Hands - The Fightin Phils next two series are against two of the teams battling them for first place in the Northeast Division standings. Currently up in Portland and then next week Binghamton comes to Reading. Somerset is also mixed into a crowded playoff picture as well, but those two teams don’t match up again this season. A very hot day and a few players experienced leg cramps - Phillies starting pitcher Yilmar Samudio exited in the top of the fourth after throwing a warm up pitch and shortstop Juan Parra left in the top of the fifth with what appeared to be a left leg cramp.
How they scored :
Nelson Prieto walked in the second inning, Sebastian Saenz singled. Jose Tovar put down a sacrifice bunt that the Astros pitcher made a two base error on allowing Prieto to score.
In the fourth inning Sebastian Saenz singled and stole second base, he scored on a single by Javen Maduro.
Juan Parra singled in the fifth, he advanced to third when Francisco Renteria reached base on a throwing error by the Astro’s third baseman. Parra left the game and was replaced by pinch runner Deivas Velasquez. Renteria stole second base and Velasquez scored on the play. Nelson Prieto singled to score Renteria.
In the eighth inning Jose Tovar reached base on a strikeout/wild pitch. Elian Adames singled, they performed a double steal. A wild pitch allowed Tovar to score. Adames scored on a ground out by Javen Maduro.
