International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 9 ( 71-62 ) Worcester 2 ( 69-64 )


Allentown, PA - Coca Cola Park


Summary :


Ryan Fitzgerald homered for Worcester in the second inning.


Ali Castillo reached on a fielding error in the third inning, he scored on a double by Yairo Munoz.  Darick Hall doubled to score Munoz.


Worcester loaded the bases in the 5th inning on a single and two walks - Bobby Dalbec hit a sac fly to score a run.


Chris Sharpe doubled in the 5th inning and scored on a single by Yairo Munoz.


Dustin Peterson walked in the 6th, went to third on a double by Rafael Marchan and scored on a single by Johan Camargo.


Darick Hall & Dustin Peterson doubled in the 8th inning.  Hall scored on a fielders choice ground ball by Rafael Marchan beating the throw home.  Jorge Bonifacio singled to score Peterson.  A wild pitch moved Bonifacio up a base, Johan Camargo singled to score Marchan.  Scott Kingery singled to score two runs.


On the Hill :

Darick Hall, Yadial Munoz, Scott Kingery & Johan Camargo each had two hits, Hall’s hits were both doubles.  Munoz, Chris Sharpe, Rafael Marchan & Dustin Peterson each doubled.


Eastern League ( AA ) - Reading 11 ( 58-72, 29-32 ) New Hampshire 0 ( 53-77, 22-39 )

Summary :


Carlos De La Cruz walked - Aldrem Corredor singled to send him to third base in the 1st inning.  Kevin Vicuna singled to score De La Cruz.


Carlos De La Cruz homered over the right field wall in the third inning.  Jhailyn Ortiz singled and scored on a double by McCarthy Tatum.   Herbert Iser doubled to score Tatum.


Andrew Painter was once again outstanding - ran into a bit of trouble in the 4th inning when the bases were loaded with a double, hit batter and walk but he pitched out of it.


McCarthy Tatum hit a three run home run in the 7th inning scoring Jhailyn Ortiz ( walked ) & Kevin Vicuna ( singled ).  Herbert Iser went back to back to make it 8-0.  Jonathan Guzman walked and scored on a double by Johan Rojas for another run.


Kevin Vicuna singled in the 8th inning and scored on a double by McCarthy Tatum. Madison Stokes singled to score Tatum.


On the Hill :


RH Andrew Painter - 5 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 HB, 9 K’s - 72 pitches - 55 strikes

RH Tyler McKay - 2 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 0 K’s - 29 pitches - 15 strikes

RH Matt Seelinger - 2 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s - 32 pitches - 22 strikes

McCarthy Tatum & Kevin Vicuna had three hits, Tatum homered and had two doubles. Johan Rojas & Herbert Iser each had two hits, Rojas doubled.  Iser & Carlos De La Cruz homered.  McCarthy Tatum had 5 RBIs


Defensive Gem :


Reading pulled off the ultra rare triple play in the seventh inning - a ground ball to third baseman McCarthy Tatum with runners on first and second - he recorded the first out at third, threw to second and the relay to first completed the triple play !

South Atlantic League ( High A ) - Aberdeen 8 ( 78-52, 35-29 ) Jersey Shore 2 ( 49-81, 24-40 )


Lakewood, NJ - ShoreTown Ballpark


Summary :


Aberdeen scored a first inning run on a walk, wild pitch and RBI single by TT Bowens.   A fielding error, triple ( Adam Retzbach ) error and four singles scored five runs for them in the second frame.


Aberdeen scored a third inning run on two singles, a double steal and throwing error ( catcher Anthony Quirion ).


Uziel Viloria walked in the third inning, went to third on a double by Hao Yu Lee.   Leandro Pineda grounded out which scored Viloria.


Kendall Simmons homered in the 4th inning.


Donta Williams homered for Aberdeen in the 8th inning.


On the Hill :

Summary :


Bradenton scored five runs in the first inning on fivehits ( two singles & a three doubles ) a hit batter and a two walks.  With two outs and the bases loaded in the inning the game went into rain delay.


At 6:07 PM it was announced that the game had been suspended - will be picked up tomorrow at 3:30 PM
