International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 7 ( 24-20 ) Worcester 6 ( 20-24 )


Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park


Summary :


Worcester scored a run in the first inning on RBI single by Rob Refsnyder.


Nick Maton singled in the bottom of the second, stole second and scored on a double by Dustin Peterson.


The Woo Sox scored a run in the third on a couple singles, fielders choice and ground out. Roberto Ramos produced an RBI single in the 4th inning.


Scott Kingery homered in the 4th inning scoring Nick Maton ( walked ) in front of him. Drew Maggi singled and stole second base, he scored on a single by Matt Vierling.


Austin Wynns doubled in the 5th inning and scored on a single by Darick Hall. Hall stole second base and scored on a double by Nick Maton.


Worcester scored a run in the 8th on an RBI double by Roberto Ramos.


The Iron Pigs scored a run in the bottom of the 8th - Nick Maton reached on an error, went to second on a single by Scott Kingery. Maton advanced to third on a fly out and scored on a fielders choice when he beat the throw home on a ground ball.


Ryan Fitzgerald hit a two run home run for Worcester in the top of the 9th inning.


On The Hill :

Austin Wynns & Nick Maton each had two hits, both doubled. Scott Kingery had two hits including a home run. Dustin Peterson doubled.


Notes :


After making a rare fielding error First baseman Darick Hall made a diving stop of a hard hit grounder to his left in the 4th inning, got up and threw a runner out at second base.


Eastern League ( AA ) - Reading 5 ( 18-23 ) Binghamton 1 ( 13-27 )

Summary :


In the third inning Mickey Moniak walked and went to third on a single to right field by Ali Castillo. Castillo stole second base. Aldrem Corredor singled to score them both.


Wyatt Young walked for Binghamton in the fourth inning and scored on a double by Luke Ritter.


Reading loaded the bases with no outs in the 5th inning on singles by Mickey Moniak & Ali Castillo and a walk by Aldrem Corredor. Moniak scored when Logan O’Hoppe reached on a fielding error. Vito Friscia hit a sac fly to score Castillo.


Mickey Moniak homered to center field in the sixth inning.


On The Hill :

Summary :


The game was scoreless for 5 1/2 innings - Baron Radcliff homered in the bottom of the sixth.


Jared Carr doubled in the seventh inning and scored on a home run by Rixon Wingrove. Baron Radcliff tripled and scored on a single by Johan Rojas.

Jared Carr singled in the 8th, advanced on a single by Rixon Wingrove and scored on a single by DJ Stewart.


Greenville scored a run in the ninth inning on a single, walk, wild pitch and ground out.


On The Hill :

Rixon Wingrove had three hits including a home run and drove in two runs. Baron Radcliff tripled, homered and walked out of the leadoff spot in the order and scored twice. Jared Carr & DJ Stewart each had two hits. Rafael Marchan and Jared Carr each doubled.


Notes :


C Rafael Marchan was assigned to the roster on rehab - he caught seven innings and went 1 for 2 ( double ) with 2 walks.

Summary :


Kendall Simmons led off the game with a single, he advanced to third base on a pickoff throwing error and subsequent groundout and scored when Hao Yu Lee reached base on an error. Lee went to second on a wild pitch, to third on a balk and scored on a single by Anthony Quirion.


Jupiter tied the score in the second inning with home runs by Osiris Johnson and Zach Zubia.


Marcus Lee Sang drew a walk in the third inning, went to second on a wild pitch and scored on a double by Anthony Quirion.


The Threshers loaded the bases in the 4th inning on a single by Leandro Pineda and two hit by pitches, Marcus Lee Sang doubled to score two runs. Hao Yu Lee walked to re-load the bases. Anthony Quirion walked to force in a run.


Jupiter plated three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on three walks, a single, wild pitch and ground out.


Joey Wendle hit a two run double for Jupiter in the 6th inning scoring two teammates who had walked.


Anthony Quirion doubled in the 7th inning and scored on a single by Yhoswar Garcia. Garcia stole second base, he was thrown out at the plate attempting to score on a single by Arturo DeFreitas. Leandro Pineda tripled to score DeFreitas.


Kendall Simmons walked in the ninth inning, went to third on a single by Marcus Lee Sang and scored on a sac fly by Hao Yu Lee.


Jupiter scored a run in the 9th on a double by Ian Lewis and RBI single by Osiris Johnson. Alex Garbrick struck out the side, working out of a first and third jam to end the game.

Extended Spring Training :


Four pitchers threw in a three inning noon intra-squad scrimmage today on Roberts Field. RH Albertus Barber & RH Sam Jacobsak each threw an inning as they continue their path back from injury. RH Fernando Lozano & RH DJ Jefferson each threw two innings.


Lou Helmig hit a double down the left field line and Felix Reyes hit a long home run over the left field fence, he also singled. Jackie Pertuz & Gavin Tonkel each had two singles. Adony Mejia, Jordan Viars & Edward Barboza each had singles.
