International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 15 ( 62-51 ) Buffalo 4 ( 60-52 )


Buffalo, NY - Sahlen Field


Summary :


Lehigh Valley loaded the bases in the third inning on a hit batter, single ( Yairo Munoz ) and a walk.  Johan Camargo doubled to score two runs.  Scott Kingery singled to score two more.


Buffalo scored a run in the 4th on a single, walk, error and single.


Chris Sharpe singled in the 5th inning, Scott Kingery walked.  Ali Castillo singled to score one run, Jack Conley singled to score another. Dalton Guthrie walked, Yairo Munoz doubled to plate a third run.  Dustin Peterson doubled to score two runs.


Josh Ockimey walked, Johan Camargo singled to score a run.  Chris Sharpe doubled to score two.


The Iron Pigs scored three runs in the 6th inning - Ali Castillo & Dalton Guthrie singled - Yairo Munoz doubled to score them.  Dustin Peterson singled to score Munoz.


A single and a double ( Rafael Lantigua ) scored a run for Buffalo in the 8th.  LJ Talley doubled to score another.


Third baseman Colton Shaver pitched the 9th for Buffalo.


Gabriel Moreno hit a ball in the 9th inning for Buffalo that stuck in the padding of the left field wall 🤪😳 - it was hit at 111 mph 👀.   The Bisons scored a run in the inning.

Yairo Munoz had four hits ( two doubles ), scored four runs and knocked in three. Johan Camargo had three hits including a double, scored twice and knocked in three runs.  Dustin Peterson, Chris Sharpe and Ali Castillo each had two hits - they each doubled.

Summary :


Carlos De La Cruz hit a two run home run in the 4th inning scoring Herbert Iser ( singled ) in front of him.


Portland scored twice in the fifth on a hit batter, single and two run double ( Nicholas Northcut ).


Wendell Rijo singled in the 5th inning, stole second and scored on a single by Jhailyn Ortiz.


On The Hill :


LH Ethan Lindow - 6 IP, 2 R, 3 H, 0 BB, 5 K’s - 68 pitches - 48 strikes - faced the minimum 5 of 6 innings - very efficient

RH Billy Sullivan - 2 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 34 pitches - 21 strikes - very strong outing 🔥

LH Brian Marconi - 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 21 pitches - 12 strikes - another save

Wendell Rijo & Herbert Iser each had two hits.  Carlos De La Cruz had two hits ( double & home run ).


Defensive Gem :


Carlos De La Cruz made a game saving catch in left field in the 9th inning.

Summary :


Wilmington scored a first inning run on a single, balk and single.  They scored twice in the fourth on a walk, wild pitch and two singles.


Luis Garcia & Ethan Wilson walked in the bottom of the 4th - they scored on a triple by Rixon Wingrove.  Rixon was thrown out at the plate attempting to circle the bases.


The Blue Rocks scored a run in the 5th on a RBI triple by Jeremy De La Rosa.


On The Hill :

Summary :


Daytona score two runs in the third inning on a two run home run by Jack Rogers.


The Totrtugas erupted for six runs in the 8th inning on three doubles, two walks , four wild pitches ( a batter reached on a strikeout- wild pitch on one of them )

Summary :


Completion of suspended game from 7/27/22 - suspended top of 5th with two outs


The game resumed with the Phillies leading 5-0 - they had scored a run in the first inning - William Bergolla singled, stole second and scored on a single by Darium Gutierrez.  In the 5th inning Derek Escobar & Jarol Martinez singled - Escobar scored on a sac fly by Juan Villavicencio.  William Bergolla singled to score a run. Darium Gutierrez doubled to score a run and Manolfi Jimenez singled to score Gutierrez.


The game resumed today at this point with Jimenez on second base and two outs


The Giants scored twice in the bottom of the fifth on a couple of doubles, a stolen base and an error.


On The Hill :


RH Ezequiel Ventura - 7 IP, 2 R, 7 H, 5 BB, 5 K’s


At Bat : 9 H, 2 BB, 4 K’s


William Bergolla, Darium Gutierrez, Manolfi Jimenez & Derek Escobar each had two hits.   Gutierrez doubled.


Arizona Fall League News :


The league announced it’s schedule today - play will begin on October 3rd with the regular season concluding on November 10th.  The Phillies seven player contingent this year will play for the Surprise Saguaros alongside players from the Astros, Royals, Pirates and Rangers.  Surprise, AZ is the joint spring training home of the Royals and Rangers.
