Following the draft 22 year old 1B/OF Matt Goodheart signed as an amateur free agent with the Phillies. He played for the University of Arkansas and is from Magnolia, Arkansas. He’s a left handed hitter and throws right handed.
Here’s how Baseball America described him …
“If you hit third in the Arkansas lineup, you’re likely a very productive hitter. Goodheart is a lefthanded hitter with a lengthy track record. Goodheart has a shot to be an above-average hitter, but he has a below-average power, which makes his pro profile difficult.”
He played three seasons at Arkansas and hit .304/.412/.498 in 569 plate appearances with 21 home runs and 103 RBIs. Thirteen of his home runs came this season.
From a fan’s view welcome to the Phillies Matt !
