This Phillies off-season I will continue the series  “Annual Phillies Minor League Player Notes” with profiles presented in groupings by defensive positions for the players who were still part of the minor league player development program at season’s end. The notes will reflect statistics, my thoughts on each player and input from them and others as I have it. Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in fall/winter leagues from games played on 10/27 and 10/28.  Current Phillies bolded and underlined. Arizona Fall League : 10/28 : Dylan Campbell went 1 for 3 (single) with a walk and played first base for the Surprise Saguaros in a 5-4 loss to the Scottsdale Scorpions. Dylan has now played six defensive positions (1B,2B,3B,LF,CF,RF) for Surprise as he continues to expand his versatility. Dante Nori was 0 for 3 with a walk

Arizona Fall League : 10/26 : RHP Eiberson Castellano pitched four innings (1 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 6 K’s - 55 pitches - 35 strikes - 21 changeups, 14 curves, 9 sinkers - 94-95 mph, 6 sliders, 5 four seamers - 92-94 mph) for the Surprise Saguaros in a 3-2 win over the Peoria Javelinas. Arizona Fall League : 10/25 : Dante Nori went 3 for 5 (singles) with two RBIs and a run scored playing center field for the Surprise Saguaros in a 11-10 loss to the Mesa Solar Sox.  Dylan Campbell played third base for the Saguaros and was 0 for 4 with a sacrifice fly RBI. Arizona Fall League :       10/21 : Dylan Campbell played third base, walked in three plate appearances and scored a run in game one of a doubleheader for the Surprise Saguaros in a 6-3 victory over the Glendale Desert Dogs.  Dante Nori returned to action in game two - he led off, walked twice, scored a run and played center field.

Youth Rising : The Phillies minor league system was described by some folks this past summer as being top heavy meaning that there were more “prospects” at the higher levels than lower. Given that the club apparently has plans to introduce more young home grown pieces into the major league puzzle next season - that seems to me to be a good thing 🧐. It’s expected that outfielder Justin Crawford will be afforded the opportunity to break spring camp with the major league team
