11/30/25 : Winter League Roundup

Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in fall/winter leagues from games played on 11/29 and 11/30 (Australia).  Current Phillies bolded and underlined. Dominican Winter League : Bryan De La Cruz (RF) went 2 for 4 (single & double) with an RBI and run scored for the Toros del Este in a 5-4 win over the Gigantes del Cibao. Johan Rojas (CF) was 2 for 5 (singles) with a stolen base for the Gigantes. Felix Reyes walked in a pinch hitting appearance for the Toros. RHP

Over the course of the long professional baseball season pitching depth is a vital need. Starting pitching in particular is a key element of organizational building. 11/24/25 : Phillies re-sign Michael Mercado to minor league contract

RHP Michael Mercado who was non-tendered on 11/21 has re-signed a minor league contract with the Phillies.  Here are my notes on him : 2025 Stats :   appeared in 42 games (49 IP) with Lehigh Valley posting a 4.59 ERA with 53 K’s and 29 walks - made three major league appearances (3 IP). Minor league free agent LHP Adam Seminaris has signed a 2026 minor league contract with the Phillies. The 27 year old pitched for the Arkansas Travelers at the AA level last season in the Seattle Mariners organization. He posted a 3.02 ERA in 24 appearances (22 starts) with a 7-7 record in 125.1 IP striking out 105 batters and walking 36. In his minor league career he has posted a 4.41 ERA in 109 appearances (87 starts) in 447 IP with 451 strikeouts and 148 walks. Seminaris w

Pedro Leon is a 27 year old outfielder who made his major league debut in 2024 with the Astros appearing in seven games - he had posted big numbers at the AAA level (Sugar Land) that summer - .299/.372/.514 in 533 plate appearances with 25 doubles, 24 home runs, 90 RBI’s and 29 stolen bases. 2025 was an injury riddled season for him as he suffered a left MCL sprain in March, was sent on a rehab assignment to Sugar Land in May but returned to the IL in June. Twenty four year old free agent infielder Liover Peguero has signed a minor league contract for the 2026 season with the Phillies. He played last season for AAA level Indianapolis in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization and posted a .247/.313/.375 slash line with a .688 OPS in 75 games (303 plate appearances) with 14 doubles, 1 triple, 6 home runs, 40 RBIs, 27 walks, 59 strikeouts and 8 stolen bases.
